Our professional and friendly drivers will assist you with the placement of your container where you need it. Please note that a permit is required from the relevant statutory authority before we are allowed to drop a container on to a public road or nature strip.
There are a number of factors to be considered before arranging delivery of your container to site. These include the size of your container, height restrictions (such as over head power lines, eaves, roller door height or trees), fencing and the available working space for the truck. The most common types of transport are sideloader, tilt tray and crane truck.
SA Container Sales & Hire can arrange delivery of your container to anywhere within Australia.
Sideloader
Used for 20′ & 40′ containers
Sideloader off loads the container to the drivers side of the trailer (it is important to consider whether you require the container doors facing the cabin or to the rear of the trailer)
Clearances required: Height = 4.5m / Width = 6m / Length = 16m
Tilt tray
Used for mini & 20′ containers
The container slides off the back of the tray
Clearances required: Height = 3.8m flat & 4.8m at tilt stage / Width = 3.5m / Length = 16m
Crane Truck
A more expensive option usually only utilised when access to the site is not suitable for a sideloader or tilt tray.
Preparing your site for delivery
Select an area that is level
Look for obstacles that may affect truck access (i.e. overhanging branches / eaves etc)
Consider which way you require the doors facing on the truck (sideloaders lift off to the driver’s side of the truck / tilt trays slide the container off the back of the tray)
Asphalt, concrete, gravel, crushed rock (100mm) are the best surfaces to store your container
Having the container slightly raised off the ground will assist in preventing moisture build up. You can place besser blocks or timber sleepers under the container to get it slightly off the ground.
